Business Analyst - Audio Video (AV) Specialist

SUMMARY

The Business Analyst - Audio Video (AV) Specialist will focus primarily on the operations, standardization of support processes and documentation related to Audio, Video (e.g. Outdoor LED Video Boards, Naked Eye 3D video Boards), Presentation & Conference room systems and IPTV systems. Their primary responsibility will be to work with local IT and corporate IT to ensure the enterprise AV systems across all of Churchill Downs Incorporated's gaming sites in the USA are correctly implemented, maintained and have support processes defined and communicated. The ideal candidate has experience managing vendor relationships and maintaining an understanding of vendor support contracts and is comfortable setting-up metrics that allow CDI to measure and maintain a high levels of up-time for those systems. In an outage, the AV Specialist will work with the onsite and third-party support teams to restore service as quickly as possible. Utilizing their working knowledge of various applications within the AV space the AV Specialist will guide property operations and IT teams who may be new to the AV system's space. This individual will write functional specification documents, test plans, training plans, deployment plans, and policies and procedures supporting AV operations and projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for documenting existing processes for AV support and building and maintaining a new process for defining a support structure for existing AV systems.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to standardize AV support processes and systems across all existing properties and future properties.
  • Facilitate meetings to discuss end-user requirements, status, issues, planning, training, and/or operational needs related to a facility AV system.
  • Maintain an equipment list with warranty/support agreement dates included for each property.
  • Work with vendors and the local IT teams to keep AV systems up to date and remediate any security vulnerabilities discovered.
  • Stay current on industry standards and practices within the AV industry to offer potential alternatives and upgrade options, mainly when replacement or installation of new systems is being considered.
  • Work with Local IT and vendors for issue monitoring and quick resolution.
  • Work with construction & vendor timelines to schedule vendors at the appropriate times to deliver systems when needed with minimal impact to the business.
  • Work with businesses to identify and improve business processes within the application's abilities.
  • Ensure the business is aware of system capabilities to better utilize available systems.
  • Responsible for timely and complete communications between the corporate IT team, vendors, and all property staff as needed.
  • Analyze the application needs and contribute to the design, structure, and maintenance of the systems and architecture.
  • Analyzes business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
  • Ability to plan, estimate, and schedule multiple tasks and develop detailed resource and project plans.
  • Possesses technical and AV industry knowledge of most phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment.
  • Analyzes business requirements and defines information systems solutions to address complex business needs (requiring innovative and creative solutions and frequently involving multiple platforms, software, hardware, technologies, and tools).
  • Provides support to users in system and software administration and usage.
  • Communicate and coordinate maintenance schedules, backups, and downtime to users.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


REGULATORY

Ability to obtain racing and/or gaming licenses as required in any jurisdiction where CDI operates. The gaming industry is highly regulated and, as such, requires an extensive background check to obtain a license. Must be 21 years of age.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology supporting AV systems.
  • Project Management background a plus.
  • Experience in gaming applications support preferred.
  • Experience understanding of major business processes within Gaming industry preferred.
  • Experience with planning, budgeting, and standard business processes preferred.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to articulate/demonstrate 2+ major IT/casino AV project implementations.
  • Minimum 3+ years of proven vendor relationship management experience.
  • Understanding of core ITIL processes (i.e. Incident, Request, Change Management).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Support a 24/7 365 information systems environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously according to agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
  • Strong attention to detail and prompt follow-up.

  • Regular use of a keyboard and mouse for typing and navigating software.

  • Ability to manipulate paperwork, including filing, sorting, and organizing.

  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or paperwork (up to 20 pounds).
  • Speaking and listening to colleagues and clients in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing.
  • Working in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Performing repetitive tasks such as data entry or document preparation.
  • Working under artificial lighting conditions typical of an office environment, including fluorescent or LED lighting.
