Job Description
The Direct Sales Team of AllianceBernsteins Institutional Investment Management division is searching for a Junior Sales professional to partner with the Senior Sales team in executing our strategic plan with large market, institutional asset owners in the US. The role entails a critical focus on engaging directly with institutional asset owners as clients and prospective investors of AllianceBernstein. Typical asset owners include corporate sponsors of DB and DC plans, Not for Profit plan sponsors of Endowments and Foundations as well as dedicated OCIO and other Sub-Advisers. The Direct Sales Team represents the full range of investment capabilities across a diversified set of investment platforms including public equity, liquid fixed income, private alternatives, hedge funds and defined contribution solutions. Candidate will be experienced in client service and distribution, dynamic as well as capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organization.
Who You'll Work With:
Candidate will work with senior members of AB's Direct team. In addition, they will work closely with the senior institutional sales team in North America.
What You'll Do:
Assist senior sales colleagues in growing and managing a book of business in keeping with agreed AUM / Revenue / Meeting targets; working alongside senior sales colleagues on a dedicate base of clients & prospects
Support senior sales colleagues in facilitating connectivity across client / prospect relationships, helping to build relationship in collaboration with senior colleagues and independently
Work with senior sales colleagues to build strategic plans for client & prospect organizations; mapping these organizations to ensure we have clear product / services / relationship goals. Review and update these plans as needed and track progress to ensure we are achieving our objectives
Integrate and use third party data (where available) into account planning and client / prospect meetings to enhance, focus and improve the overall quality of all engagements. Be on the look out for new sources of data, working creatively to integrate this into the process
Assist senior sales colleagues with the management of the sales process, participating in client & prospect meetings and facilitating the use of asset class specialists. In some instances, this may mean working independently, but to a plan carefully agreed with senior sales colleagues.
Act as a source of leverage to senior sales colleagues, enabling a greater level of sales activity. Ensure a high level of quality client engagements (travelling as necessary) making use of roadshows & campaigns to increase sales activity across a broad range of priority products
Assisting with prospecting which would involve arranging meetings, preparing prep memos, conducting research to understand potential opportunities/areas of focus
Ensure that information on meetings and all engagements is up to date and accurate, clearly articulating opportunities and helping to monitor progress through a sales process
Help to ensure close collaboration with the Consultant Relations team and partner closely with our Business Development & Cap Form teams across Multi-Asset Solutions, Fixed Income, Equities and Alternatives to help create and execute the strategy with clients and prospects.
Build a deep understanding of AB's product range, helping to ensuring that existing clients and prospects are familiar with the spectrum of our capabilities
Work in partnership with our RFP teams in prioritizing and shaping responses to proposals.
What We're Looking For:
A relationship management / sales professional with a developing knowledge across asset classes (including knowledge of private alternatives) who has some experience of client management and is refining / developing their skill set
Track record of outstanding performance and achievement
At least 5 - 8 years of experience in the financial services industry in client service / sales experience
Ability to 'cold call' prospects and a willingness to travel
Willingness to work as a member of a team, either in support of senior sales & asset class specialists or more independently on occasion
A results-orientated self-starter who can quickly understand client needs and focus on commercial delivery
Good organizational skills with an emphasis on being able to manage multiple initiatives with diligence and care
Ability to develop long-term relationships with clients and internal partners
A belief that client is first and the ability to influence and lead others to prioritize in this way
Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
Exceptional verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
Experience using data and various information sources in the management of client relationships
CFA (or similar) designation is beneficial
English language skills

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $125,000 to $175,000
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
