PDS Tech is currently recruiting for experienced Structural Mechanics to join our team at our Jacksonville, FL facility. This role supports essential maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities for military aircraft, directly contributing to military readiness and global security.

Schedule: Monday to Friday; must be able to work first and second shifts
Pay Rate: $26.62 - $32.00 per hour

Role Overview:

  • As part of our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul team, you will perform structural repairs and modifications on military and commercial aircraft and their components.

  • This position requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to regulatory compliance to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite in Jacksonville, FL, and may occasionally be assigned to other locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural repairs and modifications on fighter and commercial derivative aircraft.

  • Identify and work with various fasteners (rivets, blind rivets, hi-locks, etc.).

  • Read and interpret blueprints, maintenance instruction manuals, and process data sheets.

  • Execute tasks involving cleaning, corrosion control, polishing, and dry washing.

  • Apply aircraft finishes such as primer, paint, and sealants; use Alodine for treatment.

  • Remove and install access panels and fairings and remove damaged screws safely.

  • Drill close tolerances within .001 and measure with precision within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.

  • Fabricate, trim, drill, and assemble metallic and composite components.

  • Utilize measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) for precision assembly.

  • Document all maintenance activities accurately in technical logs and work packages.

  • Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, and Service Bulletins.

  • Use Assembly Jigs (AJ) and Repair Equipment (RE) for precise part location and assembly.

General Responsibilities:

  • Strive for efficiency and First Time Quality on all tasks.

  • Follow guidance from team leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Complete company training requirements and maintain all required certifications.

  • Report incidents through the Safety Management System.

  • Communicate using basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office.

  • Contribute to an organized, safe, and clean work environment (“Clean as You Go”).

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate within the team, upholding values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Perform other duties as directed by management to support the team and mission.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of Aircraft Mechanic experience in commercial or defense aviation or a relevant trade apprenticeship.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Skilled in close tolerance drilling and precision measurement within specified ranges.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of relevant industry or military experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant (A&P) preferred.

  • Familiarity with Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, and health and safety protocols.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work at heights using fall protection equipment (Fall Protection Certification is required).

  • Due to government regulations, this position is only open to U.S. citizens

  • This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret Clearance Post-Start).

Pay Details: $26.62 to $32.00 per hour
