Our Jacksonville facility is seeking Aviation Maintenance Technicians that are motivated to support a greater cause in directly impacting military warfighter readiness by providing critical maintenance repairs and modifications for our military customers. The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO and Component Operations organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs such as military commercial derivatives, fighter aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. To ensure we continue to support our customers, we are looking for skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to join our team. Successful applicants will be based in Jacksonville, FL. Regular and predicted attendance is required.

This position requires an individual to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment. Candidate must be able to obtain Fall Protection Certification. This is also contingency of assignment - Fall Protection Regulations - OSHA 1926, 191066, 1910 Subpart D.

Primary Responsibilities:

Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt or lock bolt

Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets & maintenance instruction manuals

Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polish or dry wash tasks

Knowledge of common fastener sizes and correct cutting tools for removal and installation processes

Remove and reinstall access panels and fairings. Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structure

Ability to safety wire and install cotter pins

Availability to work both first and second shift.

Ability to apply aircraft finishes (primer and paint), Alodine, and sealants

Ability to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.

Perform structural repairs and modifications on strike fighters, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control components

Utilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge, depth gauge, trimic, and bore gages

Fabricate, locate, trim, drill/ream, and assemble metallic and composite components. Makes major/minor modification to aircraft skins and other structural components. Installs rivets, blind fasteners, hiloks, etc in metallic and composite structures.

Ability to properly utilize Assembly Jigs (AJ), Repair Equipment (RE), and other similar fixed tooling to locate parts, trim, shim, final drill, debur, and build components to meet Blueprint requirements

Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales in conjunction with the program leads and managers

Knowledge/ability to read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives and Service Bulletins to effective aircraft

Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and manager

Have ability to lift and utilize tools, materials, equipment and components in a manufacturing environment, within the lifting standards (max 35 lb per person, 45 lb for 2 person)

Perform detailed tool inventories daily

Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office as needed to complete essential job requirements

Contribute positively to our open and honest reporting culture

Report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures

Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within assigned work areas, "Clean as You Go"

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer

Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program or employee(s)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite Boeing Jacksonville or any of the BGS sites when needed to support associated work.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered)

3+ years experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications

Ability to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirable

Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH)

Typical Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of industry or military experience
