We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team.

Client Details

The Estimator will play a key role in analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure competitive and profitable bids. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, labor costs, and is proficient in estimation software.

Description

  • Estimating and Cost Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate, comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop and submit detailed bid proposals that reflect competitive pricing, project scope, and risk management.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, assess bid proposals, and negotiate terms to secure the best value for the project.
  • Budgeting and Financial Analysis: Collaborate with project managers to establish and maintain project budgets, track actual costs, and provide insights on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Assist in planning project schedules and work sequences, aligning with project teams to ensure timelines are feasible and align with budget projections.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain records, including cost data, quantity takeoffs, bid lists, and historical cost information for use in future estimates.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to provide accurate estimates and adapt to market changes.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience in sectors such as healthcare, retail, multi-unit residential, and hospitality.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, codes, and labor costs.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera) is a plus.
