Bud's Goods and Provisions is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our award-winning team. The primary role for this individual is to perform HR-related duties on a professional level while working closely with the HR Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of human resources functions, including employee relations, training and development, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws and general administrative support. The HR Generalist will contribute to creating a dynamic workplace culture that fosters innovation, inclusivity, and productivity
Job Duties
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process, including creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition and introduction to the company. Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and establish hiring criteria. Overall management of the Applicant Tracking System.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point person to support the HR Manager in employee relations matters, including assisting with documentation and coordination related to investigations. Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR-related issues in a timely and effective manner. Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement programs.
- Benefits & Compensation: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and wellness programs. Provide guidance to employees on benefits inquiries and open enrollment periods.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they align with company culture and legal requirements.
- Training & Development: Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth. Maintain training records and ensure that all mandatory training is completed.
- Performance Management: Assist in the administration of performance reviews, providing support to managers in evaluating employee performance. Help facilitate performance improvement plans and provide guidance for career development.
- HRIS & Record Keeping: Maintain and update employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS) with accuracy and confidentiality. Assist in the management of employee data, such as job changes, promotions, and terminations
Experience and Education
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years' experience of proven HR Generalist or similar HR role.
- Experience in retail, cannabis, or a related industry is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (ISolved, ADP, Workday, etc.).
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver's license and Travel 25% of time
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
