Job Description Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Leader is responsible for all GE Vernova's Nuclear Fuel manufacturing operations in Wilmington, North Carolina. You will lead a ~400 person organization responsible for production operations and technology, as well as play a key leadership role within our business. In this role, you are accountable for a safe and compliant workplace and a customer-focused product quality and delivery culture. You will drive operational excellence and continue our path of Lean transformation, while building on a culture of inclusion and respect for people.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Serve as a key member of the Nuclear leadership team. Establish Nuclear Fuel manufacturing culture and priorities with a clear focus on business execution, effective employee communications and relations, and the embodiment of the GE Vernova Way.
  • Lead a strong nuclear safety and EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) compliance culture with emphasis on employee engagement.
  • Support full compliance with federal and state licenses at the Wilmington facility, per 10CFR Part 50, Part 70 and Title 10A of the North Carolina Administrative Code. Ability and willingness to qualify and become Facility Manager for the business' Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Special Nuclear Material (SNM) License 1097.
  • Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet or exceed customer requirements and operational metrics.
  • Lead a strong quality excellence culture compliant to the Quality Management System
  • Lead the establishment and attainment of operational goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). Drive operations team towards execution of business goals using Lean Manufacturing methodology and culture.
  • Collaborate and partner with engineering, sourcing, and other key functional leaders. Ensure strong collaboration with these teams to ensure successful launch of next generation nuclear fuel products (NPI) and processes.
  • Strategically develop, coach and motivate staff leaders to guide production and support organizations. Guide and mentor others and enable talent development.
  • Partner with leadership team to manage financial planning cycles and achieve financial targets. Develop and manage investment budgets tied to operational vision and business needs.
  • Leverage regular planning, forecasting and SI&OP rhythms to ensure that scheduling, capacity and headcount are aligned to meet long range and near-term production goals.
  • Champion positive employee relations. Promote a working environment that fosters employee engagement to achieve excellence in all aspects of SQDC and compliance.


Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 10 years of professional work experience, including manufacturing, engineering, nuclear operations and/or supply chain roles
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial manufacturing OR nuclear operations role accountable for safety, quality systems, operations and fulfillment metrics


Desired Characteristics
  • Master's Degree in Manufacturing / Business / Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated ability to shape and drive culture, set strategic vision and lead team to achieve world class results.
  • Leads with a Lean mindset and is skilled at applying Lean tools to improve business operations.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities and the capacity to drive continuous improvement
  • Strong results working with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve results and influence change.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee relations
  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and fulfillment metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring individual leaders and employees together to drive for collective goals
  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan and execute important business and supply chain initiatives; strong organization and planning skills
  • Experience with new product and advanced manufacturing technology implementation


*The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
