SUMMARY: The Director of Assessment and Accountability will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs across our preK-12 schools. This role involves collaborating with educators, administrators, and stakeholders to ensure that instructional practices support student learning and comply with state and federal accountability requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES: Must possess School Administrator Certification, preferred Educational Leadership, or obtain certification within the prescribed timeline: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/mde/AdminCert_530855_7.pdf, minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful teaching or administrative experience.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design and implementation of K-12 assessment strategies that align with district goals and state standards.
- Analyze assessment data to identify trends and inform instructional practices and decision-making.
- Collaborate with curriculum and instruction teams to integrate assessment results into curriculum development.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal accountability regulations and reporting requirements.
- Research, develop and collaborate with district staff on potential grant opportunities from federal, state and private sources
- Oversee compliance with anti-bullying, anti-harassment, and Title IX policies, ensuring a safe and equitable educational environment for all students.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff on anti-bullying, harassment, and Title IX compliance, promoting a culture of respect and safety.
- Serve as a liaison between the district and external assessment organizations and agencies.
- Communicate assessment policies, procedures, and results to various stakeholders, including parents, staff, and the community.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting data-driven decision-making across the district.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with assessment tools and data management systems
- Effective understanding of leveraging technology in education
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable strategies
- Understanding of anti-bullying, anti-harassment, and Title IX regulations and their application in K-12 settings
