Job Summary

Key Accountabilities:
- As a subject matter expert, provides the technical lead in support of various systems to ensure safe and efficient operation; provides technical expertise in the maintenance and logistical support as a member of a multidisciplinary project team responsible for the national procurement, installation, and maintenance of these systems.
- Coordinates the work of employees and assumes responsibility for overseeing all internal and external stakeholders involved with the lifecycle management tasks.
- As technical lead for assigned projects and systems, administers a work plan within specified schedules, and allocated budgets; distributes workload, coordinates, and oversees tasks.
- Conducts feasibility studies and engineering investigations in the maintenance of various systems.
- Completes trend analysis of in-service systems including asset management, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Recover (MTTR) and system availability using CMMS and other tools.
- Validates and documents maintenance activities ensuring compliance to ICAO requirements and restoration procedures.
- Prepares plans and designs; performs research and development; investigates operational problems; conducts safety analysis, evaluates deviations to standards as submitted by technical Services and engineering, and provides waivers after ensuring that safety is not compromised.
- Evaluates and collects client's systems requirements; analyzes complex technical and operational problems; identifies innovative technical solutions; coordinates civil and electronic engineering projects on-site; accepts, and commissions new facilities/systems/equipment; conducts the post-project review; manages the life cycle of configurations.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Successful completion of secondary school and completion of a full-time post-secondary program in electronics technology at a recognized institution or equivalent.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of technical experience in RADAR systems.
- Five (5) years of experience in the repair, maintenance, installation, or training of surveillance equipment in operational environments.
- Experience with inventory management practices using a CMMS tool.
Knowledge (25%):
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of electrical and electronic engineering, codes, standards, and operating procedures.
- Knowledge of design, development, and life-cycle management tools (CMMS) / processes along with industry trends and developments
- Knowledge of techniques, methodologies and disciplines used in project and life cycle management.
- Knowledge of electronic theory, RF theory, computer systems, and RADAR operations.
- Knowledge of techniques and practices to maintain, monitor, modify, adapt, and return to service of electronic equipment.
Abilities (30%):
- Skills in properly interpreting complex problems, developing appropriate alternative solutions and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to develop national standards and procedures for direction of field personnel.
- Ability to develop technical specifications for requests for proposals, statements of work, memorandum of understandings (MOUs), agreements, and contracts; compose customized detailed technical reports for internal and external use.
- Ability to analyze large data and present summaries and recommendations.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Working conditions:
- Hybrid: This position is based at Ottawa Technical Services Centre (TSC) and requires a minimum of three (3) days on-site.
