Sr. Software Engineer - HRIS Workday Lead

Job Summary

As a technical lead for the Workday program, the Sr. Software Engineer will work closely with the HRIS program team to provide specific Workday technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have experience with Workday integration configuration, methods for integrating data to and from Workday, security design and authentications, and Workday tenant maintenance. This position will work directly with IT leadership, product owners, technical teams, and various SHI departments to ensure the successful implementation of the HRIS solution.

This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX or SHI Somerset, NJ office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:
  • Provide leadership in defining and executing technical strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall business and architectural goals.
  • Participate in all phases of the Workday implementation, including requirements gathering, design, build, test, cutover, and hypercare. Will provide technical support in post-production for enhancements and regular Workday releases.
  • Guide and mentor two development teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Support the IT Product Owner by translating business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring clarity and feasibility, and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Assist in the technical deployment planning process, data conversion, and guiding the cutover plan.
  • Assist with monitoring the solution for performance issues during and after implementation.
  • Advise on Workday security configuration to ensure optimal use of Workday security functionality.
  • Some travel may be required during and after implementation, but not to exceed 25%.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience directly managing software implementation projects.
  • 5+ years' experience implementing Workday focusing on areas such as Integration, Security, Data Conversion, Data Cutover or Reporting
  • 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in large teams.
  • Experience evaluating and documenting current state-to-future-state enterprise-capable integration solutions.
  • 5+ years' experience with Agile development methodology and tools (Azure DevOps/Jira) preferred.


Required Skills

  • Workday Skills: Integration configuration, Core HCM, Report Writer, Workday Security
  • Hands-on experience in Workday Integration Technologies - Cloud Connect (PICOF, PECI, CCW, CCB), Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Advanced Report Writer,), Business Process Framework, Configurable Security, Calculated Fields, Custom fields, XML/XSLT, Studio.
  • Strong advocate for adherence to standards, best practices, and delivery processes. Workday certification is preferred.
  • Experience in leading teams using hybrid, agile methodologies preferred.
  • Prior experience integrating with iCIMS and ADP will be considered.
  • Experience leveraging diagramming tools such as Lucid Chart or Microsoft Visio.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can take ownership of tasks and activities and drive them to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.


Unique Requirements

  • Position requires up to 25% of travel as determined by SHI Management


Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
