Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, Digital and Marketing, the Communications Manager, Website is pivotal in overseeing the operation and governance of Doctors of BC's web presence. This role ensures that our web platforms effectively communicate and engage with our audience while aligning with our brand and accessibility standards.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, Digital and Marketing, the Communications Manager, Website is pivotal in overseeing the operation and governance of Doctors of BC's web presence. This role ensures that our web platforms effectively communicate and engage with our audience while aligning with our brand and accessibility standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Communication, and Content Oversight:
- Develop and execute a content strategy that ensures all website content reflects the organization's voice, aligns with web writing and SEO standards, and meets strategic communication goals.
- Oversee content creation, design, management, and the publication calendar to ensure fresh and relevant content that engages the audience and meets organizational goals and standards.
- Collaborate with the Communications team and subject matter experts to integrate marketing campaigns and initiatives into the website seamlessly.
- Act as the organization's website steward, ensuring that all projects and processes align with the established website governance model.
Collaboration and Partnership:
- Act as the primary liaison between the Communications department and Technology to ensure cohesive web presence and functionality.
- Work closely with internal and external web developers to ensure that website updates and projects are aligned with communication objective, technical standards and are executed efficiently.
- Foster strong relationships with subject matter experts, external agencies and technology partners to enhance web content and user engagement.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Responsible for the professional development, coaching, and performance management of the team.
Analytics and Performance Monitoring:
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs that align with the organization's strategic direction.
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor, assess, and report on website performance and user engagement.
- Translate data insights into actionable changes that drive traffic, improve user flow and improve content effectiveness.
User Experience and Accessibility:
- Ensure that the website adheres to the latest accessibility standards and provides an excellent user experience.
- Keep updated with best practices in user engagement and apply these to enhance the website's effectiveness.

WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in New Media, Marketing, Communication, or a similar field with an emphasis on web management.
- Over 5 years of experience in a web management role, with a strong understanding of web writing, content management systems (Drupal and WordPress), user experience and digital marketing.
- A collaborative mindset and creative problem-solving abilities, underscored by a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Demonstrated skill in using website analytics, SEO, Drupal, and Google tools effectively.
- Proven leadership in managing and developing teams, with the ability to execute projects and foster cross-departmental collaboration efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
