Systems Integration Engineer

Mytra, South San Francisco, CA

About Mytra

We're creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We're applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We're focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a "sleepy" industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
Role Overview

Mytra's Systems Integration & Test team (SIT) is looking for a flexible, multi-disciplinary engineer to build, debug and test experimental mobile robotics systems. This role is on-site in South San Francisco.

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you'll work hands-on with new generations of robotics hardware. You'll become familiar with our overall system architecture, and apply a broad knowledge of hardware, mechatronics, and software to serve as a primary point of contact for cross-functional issues and development projects.

Example Projects

  • Lead complex debugs of electro-mechanical issues. Query logs, interpret sensor data, test wiring, and inspect mechanical parts to find root causes to functional robot issues.
  • Bring up and test early R&D prototype robots. This can include Linux-based software installation, system administration, network configuration, and bash/python scripting.
  • Rapidly build, repair, and fabricate all types of robotics hardware, including electrical harnesses, PCBAs, and machined parts.
  • Develop work instructions, systems documentation, and training procedures to support external operations.
  • Effectively collaborate with hardware and software engineers to develop features and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and operating integrated systems, preferably mobile robotics.
  • Strong hands-on aptitude, with the ability to expertly build and rework electro-mechanical systems. Soldering, crimping, and precision mechanical assembly should be second nature.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems, the UNIX command line, and computer networking.
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and other advanced electrical test equipment as needed.
  • Availability for infrequent domestic travel (between 0% - 10% annually) to support integration and test activities at customer sites.
  • Uncertainty isn't scary, you're willing to realize mistakes and pivot.
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience.

A Final Note

You're encouraged to apply even if you don't meet every requirement. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.

The pay range for this role is:

135,000 - 165,000 USD per year (Mytra)
