Description
Position: Human Resources Manager
Reports to: CEO
Location: Denver (hybrid, mix of in-office and remote)
Compensation: $68,000-$85,000; as well as generous employee benefits package including 401k matching, 100% employer-paid premiums for Health, Dental, and Vision; 3 weeks paid vacation/sick time, holiday pay, and paid parental leave.
Colorado Village Collaborative (CVC) bridges the gap between the streets and stable housing by creating and operating transformational shelter communities in partnership with people experiencing homelessness. Our innovative approach centers on human dignity, empowerment of marginalized voices, and affordable, sustainable, community-oriented housing solutions.
The Human Resources Manager will play a hands-on role in managing daily HR operations while supporting CVC's mission to serve people experiencing homelessness. This role requires an initiative-taking and adaptable individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment. The HR Manager will manage key HR functions such as employee relations, compliance, policy implementation, and recruiting, with a focus on building effective systems and providing direct support to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, addressing issues with professionalism and confidentiality; provide hands-on support in conflict resolution and mediation, ensuring fair and timely resolutions; advise and coach managers on handling employee issues, performance management, and policy enforcement.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure they reflect best practices and legal requirements; implement policies related to attendance, leave management, and workplace safety, ensuring clear communication and adherence; ensure that all HR policies are inclusive and support CVC's commitment to equity and empowerment.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, FMLA, and ADA; manage workers' compensation claims and safety programs, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace; conduct regular audits of HR processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new hires; develop and maintain job descriptions, ensuring they reflect current roles and responsibilities; lead new hire orientation and ensure smooth transitions into the organization.
- HR Operations & Administration: Administer day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records, processing employee changes, and managing HRIS systems; oversee benefits administration, respond to employee inquiries, and ensure smooth enrollment and management.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on HR management experience, with a focus on employee relations, compliance, process improvement implementations, recruitment, and other generalist duties.
- Hands-On Approach: Strong track record of managing day-to-day HR functions with mindfulness and follow-through.
- Problem Solving: Experience resolving employee issues, managing conflict, and providing support in a challenging environment.
- HR Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of employment laws and ability to ensure organizational compliance.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
