Description
Primary Purpose
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting, hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, credentialing and enforcing agency policies and practices.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 4 years of professional HR experience with increasing professional level responsibilities in multiple areas of HR. Proficiency required in written and interpersonal communication skills, HRIS and HR data reporting, and Microsoft Office applications including Excel. Familiarity with HR technology implementation and federal and Oregon employment laws preferred. Mental health industry experience a plus.

Qualifications
- Provide proof of current, valid Oregon Driver's License (or if out-of-state will obtain Oregon license within 30 days), comprehensive automobile insurance (if applicable) and a safe driving record (minimum of 3 yrs.) to use company or personal vehicle for required duties.
- Successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and Medicaid Fraud Check.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Manage, track, and ensure compliance on all employee information and documentation as dictated by governing agencies and Kairos policies, including new hire required documentation, employee actions, performance reviews, corrective action, and termination.
- Manage recruitment, and internship process for all open positions at Kairos. Work closely with hiring managers on needs, process, and interviewing; manages internal and external job postings.
- Oversee all post-hire verifications and ensure follow through with Orientation paperwork.
- Conduct wage workups and pay analysis for new/internal hires for HR Director approval.
- Oversee annual performance management tracking and finalization.
- Process pay changes.
- Responsible for tracking required certifications, credentials, and new hire requirements.
- Manage credentialing process at monthly onboarding, and tracks and follows up on completions.
- Provide guidance and direction to management on HR policy and procedure interpretation and application. Ensures Kairos policies and relevant employment laws are followed.
- Provide backup to Payroll Processing.
- Conduct or assist with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include employee files, I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Process employee terminations and exit interview surveys.
- Update and maintain employee job descriptions.
- Process unemployment claims.
- Compile agency survey data for HR Director's review.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate flexibility adapting to program change.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently.
- Maintain strong personal code of ethics, including maintaining confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and cooperative working relationships.
- Provide responsive, high-quality service to all employees and community partners, state and federal agencies by providing accurate, complete, and timely information in a professional manner.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
- Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.
- May be appointed to committees.
- May provide direction and oversight to HR Specialist.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust schedule as necessary to fit program needs.

- Obtain and maintain current CPI Verbal De-Escalation Certification during employment.
- Obtain and maintain current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification during employment.
- Obtain a Food Handler's Card once employed.
