About the Role
The university is looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Vice President of Human Resources to lead HR initiatives across its campuses. The successful candidate will oversee a comprehensive range of HR services, including recruitment, staffing, compensation, benefits, employee well-being, performance management, training, payroll, and labor relations. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement strategic HR policies and capabilities, alongside creating a 3-5 year strategic HR plan. You will assess and enhance HR functions, advise on HR strategies to achieve organizational goals, manage HR staff, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of professional HR experience, though a Master’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of HR experience are preferred. Key skills required include excellent communication, proficiency in HRIS software (preferably Workday), and the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. A strong background in managing HR budgets, compensation programs, and negotiations with local unions, as well as experience in conflict mediation and fostering a collaborative training environment, is essential. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who engages effectively with stakeholders and external agencies, while representing the university in various forums.
