We are currently looking for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks in accordance with appropriate state, federal and international regulations. This position will lead shipping and receiving operations for all departments within the organization, including supporting a laboratory environment. Level commensurate with experience.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare domestic and international shipments for commercial conveyance; determine most economical and efficient shipping method; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery
- Receive and unload incoming materials; compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
- Fill out all appropriate documentation and labels for Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) goods that have been received
- On a daily basis, use an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to receive all items that have been delivered
- Maintain inventory levels of shipping supplies
- Obtain and/or apply for required documentation for international shipments
- Select appropriate shipping method based upon need and cost
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area and may lock warehouse and set alarms
- Perform basic warehouse management activities, including cycle counting, stockroom replenishment, and material handling.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities or an Associate's degree and 1 years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience using software to prepare domestic and international shipments, required paperwork and labeling of shipping containers
- Familiar with regulated receiving protocols and documentation for controlled materials, prefer GMP experience
- Knowledge and experience using computerized ERP/Inventory management system International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) certified (preferred but not required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products or equivalent software system
- Must have good organizational, planning, prioritizing and customer service skills
- Experience moving shipment packages using a hand truck/dolly and pallet jack
- Must be detailed oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Moderate physical activity; requires handling of objects up to 40 pounds, standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day
- Will work in an indoor/outdoor environment
Salary Expectations: $20.00 - $24.00/hr
