Job Description:LiveRamp is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead our global team in advancing our internal data platform and operational practices, ensuring robustness and innovation across our organization. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, this role aims to transform our data engineering function into a horizontal data and data infrastructure service across the company. Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Drive the evolution of our data platform and services with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes for our stakeholders. Lead the development of a robust semantic layer to enable self-service by enhancing data accessibility and usability. Champion modern data stack technologies and methodologies, educating teams on optimizing data workflows to drive business insights.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Governance and Observability: Enhance governance processes across data and analytics development to ensure heightened quality, reliability, security, and compliance of our data platform. Implement observability practices for proactive management and optimization of data Operations.Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical teams to maximize the value of our data stack. Ensure alignment with key processes, systems, and datasets to support organizational goals.Own our internally facing data infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes that support data integration, transformation, and loading into our corporate data warehouse.Project Management: Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and priorities to ensure timely delivery of data engineering projects.Job Qualifications:Technical Expertise: Over 10 years in technical roles, with at least 4 years leading technical teams. Deep understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle technologies, including developing and maintaining a foundational data layer/semantic layer. Additional areas of required expertise are cloud data warehousing, data transformation in an ELT/cloud-first data strategy, and data modeling. Hands-on experience with BigQuery, DBT, and development with serverless methods preferred.Strategic Vision and Leadership: Ability to create and execute strategies and accompanying roadmaps, and communicate compelling visions aligned with organizational goals.Relentless Customer Focus: Track record of proactively and continuously engaging stakeholders to understand their needs and challengesProject Management: Successfully managed complex data platform projects, ensuring adherence to SLAs related to data availability, reliability, and quality. Experience delivering measurable results and KPIs related to data operations and governance.Data Governance and Compliance: Established and enforced data governance frameworks, including data classification, access controls, and retention policies aligned with data security, privacy, and compliance standards.Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams, driving consensus and achieving strategic objectives.Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields.The approximate annual base compensation range is $183,000 to $270,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
