Job Description:Manager of Trade Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s adherence to international trade regulations and policies. In this position you will be reporting to Sr. Manager, Trade Compliance. You will focus specifically on the North American market, overseeing import and export activities, trade compliance programs, and risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of trade laws, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments.Responsibilities:Trade Compliance Strategy:Develop and implement trade compliance strategies tailored to the North American market.Stay informed about changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions.Risk Assessment and Mitigation:Assess potential risks related to import/export activities.Collaborate with legal, finance, and supply chain teams to mitigate compliance risks.Policy Development:Create and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures.Ensure alignment with global trade compliance standards.Customs and Export Control:Oversee customs compliance, including classification, valuation, and duty management.Manage export control processes, including licensing and restricted party screening.Training and Education:Provide training to employees on trade compliance regulations.Foster a culture of compliance awareness within the organization.Audits and Investigations:Conduct internal audits to assess compliance effectiveness.Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records related to trade compliance activities.Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, legal, finance, logistics, etc.) to ensure seamless trade operations.Liaise with government agencies, customs brokers, and industry associations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in international trade, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).Minimum 10 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or related roles.Specific experience working with CBPStrong understanding of North American trade regulations (e.g., NAFTA, USMCA).Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) designation is a plus.Nextracker offers a comprehensive benefits package.
