Inventory Control Specialist

Description
Education & Experience
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for ROI
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand
- Analyze inventory data to identify patterns and trends and make recommendations for inventory optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement solutions
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the company's inventory management system
- Generate reports on inventory levels, turnover, and other key performance indicators
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement objectives and safety and environmental objectives.
- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Direct others in preparing or loading outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
- Promote a safe working environment with Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Programs.
- Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer
- Maintain the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follow prescribed safety regulations

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management or related field
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with DOT HAZMAT, shipping & receiving preferred
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift (preferred)
- Attributes consistent with company culture: safety, customer focus, integrity, continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Bilingual - Communicate (English/Spanish) preferred
- Preferred: Intermediate Microsoft Office Programs i.e., Excel, Word
- Customer service skills. Able to relate well to all internal and external customers
- Analytical aptitude, commitment to accuracy and quality, problem-solving skills, attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy
- Forklift certified
- High attention to detail

- Ability to work independently as well as collectively.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple tasks & multiple priorities

- General plant environment, including regularly required standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bowing, or crouching and using hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, lift/ pick up, and type.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Position requires occasional long hours, work on the evenings, occasional weekends or holidays when needed.
- Must be able to pass the company's Drug & Alcohol Screenings.
