About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Finance and Administration to serve as its chief administrative and financial officer. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong background in financial management, particularly in the context of higher education. This role is pivotal in providing leadership in finance, administration, operations, and sustainability, and the VPFA will work closely with the President and senior leaders to achieve the strategic goals of the institution. Key responsibilities include overseeing all financial activities, maintaining institutional books of account, and ensuring the College's financial health and compliance. The VPFA will also be involved in shaping the College's approach to campus renewal and sustainability, and must be a strategic partner with deep financial acumen, a savvy planner, and a strong communicator. Applicants for the VPFA position at the company should have a BA, CPA, or MBA, with at least 10 years' of progressive leadership experience. The role requires a candidate with a deep commitment to the mission of the College, particularly in supporting a more sustainable campus. The ideal candidate will be a builder with a sincere interest in sustainability, a strong communicator with a clear service orientation, and a sensitive manager who leads with empathy. Collaboration is essential, as the VPFA will be a natural collaborator, working with a diverse population of administrators, staff, students, and faculty in a culture of shared governance. The role also demands a champion for change, capable of leading the College through various financial and legal compliance issues, and a thought leader who can enhance the College's national brand and reputation.
