Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Esri ArcGIS software stack to produce, display, and analyze spatial data;
- Creating, organizing, manipulating, and generating GIS maps and data for reporting, analysis, presentations, and data visualization purposes;
- Maintaining GIS standards for projects and following and enhancing standard GIS workflows for mapping tasks;
- Understanding of the principles of enterprise GIS data management and a centralized approach to managing the delivery of geospatial products to clients;
- Supporting field work using GIS software to publish web services and create web maps for reference and data capture in the field;
- Understanding of GPS equipment and how it is used in a mobile GIS environment;
- Researching project data needs and an ability to acquire the most accurate data from internal and external sources;
- Leading the execution of GIS project work for small to mid-sized projects, maintaining existing standards and workflows, delegating tasks, and training staff, as necessary to meet budget and schedule requirements, and
- Interacting with internal and external clients to support data visualization for environmental remediation, facility mapping, and raster analysis projects

Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, or geology. (required)
- Masters degree in geography, environmental science, computer science, engineering, or geology. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of technical training and experience in GIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Exceptional attention to detail in work products, written communication, spelling, and grammar. (required)
- Proficiency in the Esri ArcGIS software stack (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro), including geodatabase structures and geoprocessing concepts. (required)
- Proficiency in cartographic techniques and best practices. (required)
- Experience with tablet-based field data collection using various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data. (preferred)
- Proficiency in web-based mapping applications (e.g. ArcGIS Online, Portal, Geocortex, Field Maps, Survey 123). (required)
- Ability to automate or implement custom processes using scripting languages (e.g. Python, Arcade, R, SQL). (preferred)
- Understanding and use of Graphic Design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). (preferred)
- Direct experience managing environmental, geologic, and geotechnical data collection, especially in support of CERCLA and RCRA project work. (preferred)
- Knowledge of laboratory analytical data verification and validation processes. (preferred)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to perform problem-solving and develop innovative solutions to meet project needs. (preferred)
- Strong time-management skills to meet project deadlines. (preferred)
- Ability to prioritize work and respond to overlapping project needs. (preferred)
- Patience and planning skills to cultivate an efficient GIS data management and visualization practice and maintain and enhance GIS standards. (preferred)
- Ability to talk to and engage clients in business development and willingness to learn new business development skills. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
