Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include: Carrying out GIS projects using ESRI ArcGIS software (Version 10.x) to store, visualize, and analyze spatial data, with a particular focus on geohazards data management for extensive, long, linear infrastructure (e.g., oil and gas pipelines);
Processing and displaying LiDAR datasets for use in remote sensing mapping applications; Developing, setting-up, and maintaining large geodatabases and/or online feature services for long-term data management Designing, developing, and producing data visualization outputs using ArcGIS (e.g., report figures and maps); Facilitating field data collection through ArcGIS applications and Survey 123; Interacting with internal and external clients to support database management and data visualization for geohazard focused projects; Compiling, verifying, analyzing, and reporting large and diverse datasets; Interacting with internal and external providers to coordinate collection and transfer of data to project databases; and Training: We offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, or geology or related field. (required) Advanced degree in geography, computer science, science, or geology or related field. (preferred) GIS professional certification or formal GIS training. (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of technical training and experience in ArcGIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcPortal, ArcCollector/Field Maps, and Survey 123. (required) Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data. (required) Experience working with LiDAR data, including processing, storing, and displaying large datasets for use in remote sensing applications. (required) Direct experience managing environmental, geologic, and geotechnical data collection. (required) Prior experience managing GIS data for pipelines (preferred) Knowledge of server architecture and web technology (preferred) Ability to automate processes using tools and scripts (e.g., Python, ArcGIS model builder) (preferred) Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) Preferred candidates will also possess the following professional attributes: Vision and desire to lead a data management and visualization practice in the environmental consulting industry.
