Data Management & Data Governance Principal
We help people improve the future with data. As a Data & Analytics (D&A) Principal for Slalom Consulting, you will be responsible for delivering quality Data Management solutions and Data Governance (DG) programs as well as providing technical architecture and leadership to other team members. The primary areas of focus for a candidate are Enterprise Data Management as well as a proven history of successfully designing and delivering solutions.
Your duties will include working with a broad base of business and technical team members to assist with requirement definitions, solution design and technical architecture and delivery. As a Slalom Consultant, you will work in a collaborative fashion with team members including project managers, scrum masters, solution architects, business analysts and data engineers. In addition, you will ensure the development and delivery efforts are met, and provide technical guidance, as needed, to other team members for quality assurance, mentoring and growth opportunities.
Slalom's consultants wear many hats and are introduced to many different situations. The ideal candidate will look forward to being challenged and to continually grow - not only technical skills but business and consultative skills as well.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the expected base salary pay range is $118,000 to $150,000 In addition, there is potential for a 12% discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will depend upon individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

So, what will I do?
- Project delivery in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Develop highly performant, reliable and scalable solutions
- Ability to clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel
- Lead and perform gap assessment to inform Data Governance maturity, and to recommend target state solutions
- Provide Data Governance and Data Management best practice to the client and lead them through their data transformation journey
- Design target Data Governance Operating Model and implement as part of Data Governance initiatives
- Lead rollout of Data Governance initiatives with Data Governance solutions implementation
- Lead analysis, architecture, design and development of Data Governance software solutions
- Lead process improvement design, and implement process automation in support of Data Governance solutions and Data Governance initiatives
- Implement the following Data Management and Data Governance solutions
- Data Catalog
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Data Quality/Observability solution such as Profiling, Monitoring Measures (metrics/KPIs), Scorecards, and visual analytics to support MDM and Data Governance initiatives
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver solutions
- Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members to successfully overcome technological challenges
- Lead and demonstrate emerging technologies and concepts to teams
- Lead internal development of capability standards, best practices, points of view, accelerators and solution offerings
- Assist business development team with pre-sales activities, concentrated on solutioning to meet client needs
And, what will I bring?
- 8+ years of experience in Management Consulting and/or Advisory related consulting engagements for Enterprise Data Management and Data Governance initiatives
- Thorough understanding of Data Management best practices/frameworks (DAMA, DCAM, etc.) to assess gaps and recommend actionable solutions
- Experience managing and executing Data Governance projects and driving data ownerships in client environments
- Keen sense and knowledge in market-leading and emerging Data Management and Data Governance technologies
- Implementation of Data Governance solutions with Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Hands-on experience with leading Cloud data catalog solutions (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Purview, Unity Catalog), MDM solutions (e.g., Profisee, Clued-in, Informatica) & Data Quality solutions (e.g., Ataccama, Informatica)
- Expert knowledge of Master Data Management which includes:
- Create MDM strategies for clients, with the ability to confidently discuss requirements, priorities, potential solutions, and MDM architecture patterns
- Gather and document Master Data Management requirements by interviewing stakeholders
- Thorough understanding of Data Management tenets such as Match/Merge, Enrichment, Trust & Survivorship, Deduplication
- Lead analysis, architecture, design and development of Master Data Management solutions
- Thorough understanding of data architecture, Enterprise Integration and SOA design.
