The Interior Commercialization Team is seeking a Technician to support the product development for interior Architectural products designed for the Paint Stores Group. This position is accountable for contributing to the development, reformulation and testing of Architectural paint products. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. Responsibilities Include: Supporting new product development activities including independently preparing/testing paint samples and incorporation of materials for evaluation. Establishing timeline for assignments based on priorities with assistance from supervisor. Effectively communicating technical results and conclusions with project leads, management, and stakeholders. Completing assigned work and issuing reports in alignment with project timelines. Documenting results in laboratory notebook in a timely manner Adhering to safety, quality (e.g., ISO), and housekeeping policies and guidelines. BASIC QUALIFICATION: * Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: * Must have a High School Diploma KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: * 1 year of experience in a lab setting * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills * Excellent organization and planning skills * Experience with laboratory instrumentation * Microsoft suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Preferred: * Previous Commercialization and/or paint making experience * Knowledge of paint/coatings chemistry, formulation and production TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: * Ensures compliance with department policies and procedures, applicable laws, rules, and regulations * Prioritizes daily projects and tasks * Solves problems and recommends solutions Preferred: * Understands the basics of paint formulation and testing * Creative thinking This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Breen Technology Center, located at 601 Canal Road, Cleveland, OH 44113.
