Job Summary

The WIRED Global Centerand theU-Smart Labare seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Communications Intern to join our marketing team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, communications and content creation while working closely with both the WIRED Global Center and the U-Smart Lab. The intern will be responsible for composing articles featuring center members and activities, creating compelling written and visual content, and maintaining an active social media presence.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation : Compose articles to highlight WIRED Global Center and U-Smart Lab members and their accomplishments and feature upcoming/past events.

  • Editing and Revisions : Edit articles and content based on feedback from the Marketing Manager, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Social Media Management : Manage WIRED Center’s social media feeds, including creating posts and engaging with the community.

  • Copywriting : Write engaging and concise copy for social media platforms to promote events and initiatives.

  • Image Editing and Graphic Design : Perform basic image editing and graphic design tasks to create visually appealing social media content.

  • Event Support : Assist in the planning and execution of WIRED Global Center and U-Smart Lab events, including promotion and on-site support.

  • Additional Tasks : Participate in other marketing-related tasks as needed to support the team’s goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education : Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.

  • Writing Experience : Strong writing skills with experience in journalistic writing; a portfolio of writing samples is preferred.

  • Social Media Skills : Familiarity with social media management and content creation; experience with platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram.

  • Technical Skills : Basic proficiency in image editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) and graphic design principles.

  • Organizational Skills : Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
