This internship has the possibility of extending into the Spring 2026 semester, based on performance and availability.
Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week Compensation: $15 per hour
Position Overview
As the Marketing and Communications Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications by supporting outreach efforts for both the Knoxville Habitat affiliate and the ReStore.
The time spent on-site will follow a 80/20 split between the affiliate headquarters and the ReStore, while the project work will support both teams equally. This hybrid approach offers well-rounded exposure to storytelling, digital marketing, campaign execution, and community engagement for both sides of our organization.
You'll work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to plan and execute campaigns that promote volunteerism, fundraising, events, ReStore donations and sales, and overall mission awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and scheduling content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) Write compelling, brand-aligned posts that promote events, impact stories, and campaigns Support the creation of email newsletters and donor communications Draft marketing copy for flyers, blog posts, and web updates Contribute to promotion of community events Provide photography and video support for ReStore and affiliate campaigns Help maintain website content and monitor digital engagement analytics Collaborate on ReStore promotions and mission-driven storytelling campaigns Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program focused on Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Passion for nonprofit missions and community impact. Strong writing and communication skills. Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment. Interest in storytelling, branding, and digital content trends. Creative and innovative thinker who is eager to learn and contribute ideas. Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn); knowledge of Canva/Adobe Express or other design tools a plus. What You'll Gain
