The Opportunity

LG Ad Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Engineering. The ideal candidate is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and operation of our data lake infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing large-scale data environments.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, and Marketing, to align engineering goals with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain high engineering standards, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  • Drive the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.

Strategic Planning
  • Develop and execute the engineering strategy for the ad tech product portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs.
  • Identify emerging trends and technologies in ad tech, and incorporate them into the product roadmap.
  • Oversee the architecture and design of scalable, high-performance ad tech solutions.

Project and Resource Management
  • Manage the engineering project lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to timelines.
  • Implement and optimize engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Monitor project progress, address any issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.

Technical Expertise
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring the use of best practices in software development and system architecture.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of ad tech systems, including ad servers, data management platforms (DMPs), server-side platforms (SSP), demand-side platforms (DSPs)
  • Ensure the security, quality assurance (QA), reliability, and scalability of ad tech solutions.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the ad tech industry.
  • Strong understanding of ad tech technologies and ecosystems, including programmatic advertising, ad exchanges, SSPs, DSPs, and DMPs.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems, real-time data processing, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks and tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence as applied to ad tech.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and project management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a focus on delivering value.
