Huntsman is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist will be supporting the Huntsman Advanced Materials Americas LLC Division located in Los Angeles, California. This position will report to the Logistics Manager.

Job Scope

At our Los Angeles plant, we are committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability, driving progress in our industry. We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to join our team and contribute to our continued success. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure efficient operations and minimize disruptions. This role involves monitoring inventory accuracy, coordinating with various departments, and implementing best practices to maintain high standards of inventory control.

In summary, as the Inventory Control Specialist, you will:
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of adjustments and solutions.
  • Responsible for site-wide completion of cycle counts and inventory management, including performing internal and external audits. Enforce and complete cycle count policy and perform internal inventory audits.
  • Implement or change processes to make the cycle counts more efficient and effective.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track inventory movements, manage stock levels, and generate reports.
    • Completes SAP transactions immediately for raw material returns from Production Areas to the Warehouse, including special locations, in an effort to remove lag time.
    • Complete SAP adjustments for partial raw materials from stock history label and Process Formulation sheet (e.g. glass bubbles)
    • Confirm the stock history label matches SAP consumption for specific raw materials
    • Complete SAP adjustments immediately after the cycle count is completed by production and any other areas (as support is needed) to reduce lag time, then create a list to get authorization from the Supply Chain manager for disposition.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and ensuring that all products are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Responsible for overseeing the entire process until material is physically removed from the current storage locations and moved to the hazardous waste location.
  • Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and address any supply chain issues.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent with an AA degree in a technical field highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of inventory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift/Drexel experience is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in SAP (Vanquish) transactions, which require performing inventory counts and adjustments.
Skills and knowledge
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess math and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
What can we offer you?
  • Salary range $60,000-$75,000 per year.
