Integrated Circuit Design Engineer

Unreal Gigs, San Jose, CA

Company Overview: Welcome to our innovative semiconductor company, where we push the boundaries of technology to create cutting-edge integrated circuits (ICs). We specialize in designing and manufacturing advanced ICs for various applications, including telecommunications, automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial automation. Join our dynamic team of engineers and be part of shaping the future of technology with groundbreaking IC designs.

Position Overview: As an Integrated Circuit Design Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing high-performance ICs that power the next generation of electronic devices. Leveraging your expertise in IC design methodologies and semiconductor technologies, you'll design, simulate, and verify complex digital and mixed-signal circuits to meet stringent performance, power, and area requirements. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of IC design and making a meaningful impact in the semiconductor industry, we want you on our team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Circuit Design: Design and implement digital and mixed-signal circuits, including logic gates, flip-flops, arithmetic units, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and digital-to-analog converters (DACs), using industry-standard design methodologies and tools.
  2. RTL Coding: Write and debug Register-Transfer Level (RTL) code in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL, ensuring compliance with design specifications and performance goals.
  3. Simulation and Verification: Perform functional and timing simulations of digital circuits using simulation tools such as ModelSim or Synopsys VCS, and verify circuit functionality, timing constraints, and power consumption.
  4. Synthesis and Place-and-Route: Synthesize RTL code into gate-level netlists using synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler or Cadence Genus, and perform place-and-route using physical design tools to generate layout.
  5. Physical Design Support: Work closely with physical design engineers to provide floorplanning, placement, and routing constraints, and guide physical implementation to achieve timing closure, signal integrity, and area targets.
  6. Power Analysis: Perform power analysis and optimization of IC designs, including dynamic power, static power, and power gating techniques, to minimize power consumption and meet power budget requirements.
  7. Design Optimization: Iterate on design implementations to optimize performance metrics such as speed, area, and power, leveraging design automation tools and techniques for design exploration and optimization.
  8. Design Verification: Develop and execute testbenches and test vectors for design verification, including functional simulation, code coverage analysis, and formal verification, to ensure design correctness and completeness.
  9. Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including design specifications, design reviews, and verification reports, ensuring clarity and completeness of design information.
  10. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, verification, software, and test teams, to integrate IC designs into system-on-chip (SoC) platforms and ensure successful tapeout and production.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
