Primary Responsibilities:
- Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer and document Unix/Linux systems, software, system related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with established standards.
- Create, document and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain and patch system environments and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, or reported by users.
- Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to current operating environment and implement remediation plans.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in the management and operation of the Linux Enterprise operating environments.
- Perform any required re-accreditation actions such as DISA STIG review, OS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and document various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the normal accreditation cycle.
- Recommend changes to the government for improvement in the operating and/or security environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related work experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of related work experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
- Current IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570-M Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+CE or equivalent) or the ability to obtain within 30 days from date of offer of acceptance.
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience in administering and maintaining Linux systems and applications.
- 6+ years technical experience of installation, configuration, and security of server environments.
- Expert knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator and Network technologies and protocols.
- Experience operating in virtual environments.
- Knowledge of cloud architectures and solutions.
- Proven experience with applying various security standards (i.e. DISA STIGs, ACAS scans, etc.).
- Proficiency in Docker container strategies, automated testing, and monitoring.
- Experience with Bash, Ksh shell scripting.
