This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Lead and grow the Alberta GIS Team.
- Prepare material for education, marketing, presentations, or technical documentation for dissemination to KCB staff and clients.
- Research available technologies and review corporate practices to identify potential areas for advancement and improvement.
- Gather, compile and analyse datasets according to project needs from a variety of internal and external sources.
- Complete spatial analysis to support project deliverables.
- Develop, configure and mange dynamic web GIS applications for internal project teams on both ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online platforms.
- Prepare and deliver high quality GIS figures for environmental and engineering reporting.
- Champion GIS solutions for the business unit for both data collection and delivery.
- Collaborate with the larger KCB GIS Team and KCB employees from various offices across Canada and internationally.
If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Geomatics or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems, and a minimum of 5 years' of experience in a GIS environment, we want to hear from you!
We value your:
- High proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software suite, including both ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience with Safe Software FME Form (Desktop) and Flow (Server).
- Knowledge of spatial reference systems, spatial analysis, SQL queries, and raster processing and analysis.
- Working knowledge of programming languages for ArcGIS (i.e. Python, SQL, VBScript, etc.).
- Experience creating web-based mapping solutions (ArcGIS Online, Enterprise Portal) using Web App Builder and Experience Builder.
- Experience developing custom ESRI field data collection tools such as Survey123, Field Maps, QuickCapture.
- Keen eye for cartographic design and the capability to produce high quality cartographic products.
- Intermediate or better knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise (Server and Portal), ArcGIS Online instances, and/or Python scripting.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Software Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience collecting, managing, and sharing data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written, oral, and virtual communication skills for all levels of technical understanding.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction coupled with an ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to technically support junior GIS and non-GIS team members in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
