This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Enterprises HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.

SUMMARY

Assemble parts in accordance with standardized work instructions. Must be able to identify differences in standardized work instructions and inconsistencies in parts and be willing to stop the line. Must qualify on at least one task and the upstream and downstream tasks. Must be able to use Air Tools. Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods of the time (2 hours). Responsible for maintaining area cleanliness in accordance with 5S principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Assembles fabricated parts at floor stations.
  • Assemble parts in accordance with standardized work instructions.
  • Stop the line due to Safety or Quality.
  • Qualify on at least one task and the upstream and downstream tasks.
  • Maintain area cleanliness in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
  • Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Entry Level.
  • May require 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, & ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to identify differences in standardized work instructions and inconsistencies in parts and be willing to stop the line.
  • Must qualify on at least one task and the upstream and downstream tasks.
  • Must be able to use Air Tools.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
  • Does not deviate from detailed directions given by supervisor and managers
  • Contact is routine and primarily with employees in the immediate work unit and/or members of the public in a highly structured situation.
  • Usual contact is with individuals or small teams.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Moderately strenuous (Often lifts 25-50 pounds)
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods of time (2 hours).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Moderate risk (Requires special mitigating precautions and/or personal protective equipment or due to potential risk with machinery or chemicals).
