Procurement and Quality Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement and Quality Specialist to join our team at a leading supplements manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and supplies, as well as overseeing the quality assurance process to ensure products meet regulatory standards. Experience with Fishbowl Inventory Management System is preferred for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement:

• Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other necessary goods, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality.
• Manage inventory levels, place orders, and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor and forecast material requirements to avoid production delays.
• Utilize Fishbowl Inventory Management System to track inventory, purchase orders, and stock levels.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and ensure they comply with company policies and industry regulations.

Quality Assurance:

• Oversee the quality control process for incoming raw materials and finished products.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Inspect and test raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet regulatory standards and internal specifications.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement in the production process.
• Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, audits, and supplier performance.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality policies.
• Develop and maintain quality control procedures and procurement protocols.
• Document all quality checks and material sourcing activities accurately in the Fishbowl system.
• Prepare reports on procurement, inventory, and quality assurance metrics for management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred, but not required.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement and quality control in a manufacturing environment, preferably in supplements, nutraceuticals, or related industries.
• Proficient in using Fishbowl Inventory Management Systemis preferred.
• Strong knowledge ofGMP regulations, and other industry compliance standards.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE, CQA).
• Familiarity with dietary supplement manufacturing processes.
• Experience in sourcing organic, non-GMO, or specialty ingredients is a plus.
