Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description A pump manufacturing company in Katy has an immediate need for a Mechanical Assembler to join their team. The successful candidate will assemble pump mounted skids according to blueprints and drawings, use hand and power tools, drill and tap, perform pump alignments, mount compressors, and bolt up shafts. This is a day shift position, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed. Responsibilities Perform assembly on skid mounted pump packages. Read and interpret blueprints. Operate hand and power tools. Assist lead mechanics with cleaning the shop and hauling tools. Drill and tap as required. Wire equipment. Mount compressors and bolt up shafts. Essential Skills 2+ years' assembly/technician experience. Proficiency with tape measures and levels. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of mechanical assembly, pump assembly, compressors, and motors. Experience with rotating equipment. Work Environment This is a manufacturing environment with fabrication, welding, and assembly activities. The shop is clean but not climate controlled. Employees will work at various stations mounting pumps and compressors on skids. The facility is equipped with forklifts, overhead cranes, and separate areas for assembly and welding. The standard day shift is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the possibility of working extended hours (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM) and weekends as needed. Currently, the average workweek is 45 hours.
