Job Description

Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

About Us: GPAC has partnered with a national law firm specializing in Litigation. Their team is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to work in our Los Angeles (Westwood) office. The position requires significant client contact and the ability to excel when working independently. Superior client communication, writing, research, computer, and organizational skills are a must. Experience required in drafting initial pleadings, conducting depositions, preparing and responding to written discovery, and extensive motions practice.

They offer legal services in business restructuring & insolvency, construction, corporate matters, healthcare, intellectual property, labor & employment, litigation, real estate, and trusts & estates. In addition, the firm offers a wide range of legal services to clients in the aviation & aerospace, cannabis, emerging cyber technologies, energy & natural resources, entertainment & sports, hospitality, and life sciences industries.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Handling cases from preparing responsive pleadings to trial
  • Propounding and responding to discovery
  • Conducting depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses and experts
  • Attending court hearings
  • Preparing and arguing motions/oppositions
  • Trial preparation
Candidate Qualifications
  • 3-5 years in civil and commercial litigation
  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Must be licensed in California
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word
  • Legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools
  • Ability to handle complex litigation matters from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing Experience in both state and federal court proceedings
  • Strong academic and employment credentials
  • Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal interaction skills
  • Well-organized
  • Proven track record of performance

Employee Status: Full-Time (8 hr days) - Non-exempt - In-Office 4 days a week and one day work from home (after 90 probationary period).

Salary Range: $135,000-$170,000/year - Salary commensurate with expertise & previous experience; discretionary bonuses
