Do you want to be part of a dynamic HR team that is an essential partner to our business? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Business Partner to join our team at our Pasadena manufacturing site. This role is ideal for a proactive and dedicated individual who thrives in a stand-alone position with full ownership and accountability for the HR function at their plant site. The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in fostering a positive work environment, managing labor relations, and driving business results through effective human resources practices. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Partnership: Serve as a strategic partner to the plant management team, providing insights and guidance on HR-related matters to support business objectives. Foster a collaborative environment to drive organizational success through effective HR practices.
  • Labor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with union representatives and handle all labor-related issues effectively. Manage labor relations and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee relations issues promptly and fairly. Conduct investigations and resolve conflicts to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • HR Metrics: Utilize HR metrics and data to drive decision-making and improve HR processes. Prepare and present reports on HR activities and key performance indicators to senior management.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by implementing employee engagement initiatives, addressing employee concerns, and promoting Ketjen's core values.
  • Talent Management: Oversee onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure the site is staffed with skilled and motivated employees. Develop and implement training and development programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
  • Performance Management: Drive the performance management process, including setting performance goals, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing coaching and feedback to employees.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure the consistent application of company policies and procedures. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.


Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a human resources business partner role, inclusive of at least 2 years of labor relations experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial and Labor Relations, or a related field. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of HR responsibilities at a plant site. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data and analysis. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and stay current with HR best practices and legal requirements.
