POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)
  • Provide leadership and development for HR and Safety staff
  • Manage employee relations, training and development, compliance, policy development and succession planning
  • Oversee safety, recruitment, performance management, payroll, compensation and benefits, employee recognition
  • Work with management team as strategic partner to lending HR expertise and best practices
  • Lead and assist with employee relations opportunities, communications and events
  • Responsible to measure department performance through metric tracking and analysis
  • Research and manage opportunities for new hire and training grants
  • Collaborate with HR and management team to evaluate staffing levels, employee utilization and organizational efficiency
  • Partner with brokers to evaluate and recommend cost-effective and competitive health and benefit plan options
  • Manage 401(k) plan to ensure fiduciary responsibilities are met
  • Stay current on HR and Safety trends and updates, participate in local and state networking opportunities
  • Oversee environmental and occupational health and safety programs
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and administration of safety programs
  • Provides leadership and direction to build a strong safety culture
  • Develops and implements processes and training to maintain a safe workplace
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local health, environmental, and safety practices and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILL SET
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university, master's degree preferred.
  • SPHR, PHR certification preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive human resources experience driving HR strategy and organizational change and sourcing and developing key talent
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Strong understanding of all functional HR disciplines with specific strength in employee relations and organization development
  • Strong business acumen and HR business partner skills. Shows interest in the business and can connect HR initiatives with business needs
  • Skilled in managing employee relations, benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, organization effectiveness, organization development, and performance management initiatives
  • Strong track record of proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and driving results
  • Demonstrated history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility, and partnering with leaders and peers
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. Has the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and all levels in the organization
  • Plans well and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and OSHA regulations

Employee must be able to manually enter data to the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 5lbs and occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs. Use of hands to hold, lift and handle materials. Seldom climbing, bending and squatting.
