Job Description: Regional Sales Manager

Reports to: Vice President, GAP Sales

Position Objective: Contributes to the overall growth of the Region assigned by developing a market entry and penetration strategy, along with growing sales with new and existing customers.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in related field
  • 15 to 25 years' experience in sales industry and related field
  • Established sales leadership record
  • Industry knowledge
  • Problem solving capability
  • Excellent Communication skills - both oral and written
  • Organized - prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Dependable - follows instructions, responds to management direction - keeps commitments
  • Takes Initiative - takes independent actions and calculated risks; looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed
  • Ability to travel in the territory up to 75% of the time

Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervise Business Development (BD) Managers and work with Territory Managers and Sales Support in the Southwest Region.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
  • Represent company at regional specific trade association meetings to promote products
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Business Development Managers and Territory Managers
  • In conjunction with Business Development managers and Territory Managers, meet with key clients and assist with maintaining relationships and driving growth opportunities.
  • Coordinates liaison between regional sales staff and other sales related units
  • Analyses and controls expenditures of regional staff to confirm to budgetary requirements
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client-based expansion for region
  • Monitors and evaluates activities and products of competition

Performance Expectations:
  • Sales Revenue/Profit Growth for assigned region
  • Effectively manage sales budget for the region
  • Generate New Accounts in underperforming areas
