Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HR policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance and best practices
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment process, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the organization
- Foster positive employee relations through effective communication, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off
- Develop and implement employee training and development programs to enhance skills and promote career growth
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide guidance on performance improvement plans
- Manage the organization's compensation strategy, including salary structures and pay equity
- Oversee the maintenance of employee records and HRIS database
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to foster an inclusive workplace culture
- Manage employee exit processes, including conducting exit interviews and analyzing turnover data
- Serve as a key advisor to management on HR-related issues and best practices
- Develop and monitor HR budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in HR management, ideally in a nonprofit or social enterprise setting
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with performance management and employee development programs
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
