ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented hands-on HR Leader to join the Farmacy Beauty team in NYC. You’ll develop programs and lead initiatives that enable a high-performing connected culture, while overseeing all operational elements necessary to run a high-functioning HR department that’s legally compliant and forward-thinking. Functional areas of scope include Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Compliance, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development, Org Design, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Culture Building. The HR Director will deliver measurable and lasting impact to Farmacy employees rooting all People initiatives in our business strategy. You’ll report to the SVP of HR, and will collaborate regularly with candidates, vendors, freelancers, people managers, and all Farmacy employees (including US + Canada team members across office, warehouse, and field sales environments). You will manage one direct report, the Assistant HR Manager.
Requirements
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Function leadership. Lead and manage the HR function for Farmacy, including 1 direct report (Assistant Manager, HR). Act as key backup and escalation point for HR operations: Recruiting, payroll, benefits, and onboarding/offboarding.
- HR Action Plan. Identify key opportunities to elevate employee experience and define action plans.
- Process improvement. Assess and understand existing People processes, programs, structures and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Employee case management. Manage complex employee scenarios across diverse employee groups (US + canada, office, field, warehouse).
- Talent management. Grow and develop talent through programs, resources, and new strategies, including (but not limited to) Work Plans, Performance Reviews, Ratings.
- Data & Analytics. Leverage HR data and analytics to support People and program decisions. Lead all external reporting.
- Culture & Employee engagement driver. Enable a collaborative work environment and company culture that is distinctive and unique to Farmacy.
- Policy & Compliance. Employee Handbook, T&E, partner with P&G Employment Law group, stay up-to-date on industry trends.
- Compensation. Own overall design and execution of Annual Compensation Review to ensure competitive + equitable pay for all employees. Lead external benchmarking and updating of ranges.
- Budget. Own people budget, in partnership with Finance. Empower leadership to make strategic choices that enable us to meet our business goals.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 8+ years relevant HR Generalist experience, ideally in Beauty or Consumer Goods and in progressive, modern work environments.
- Passion for the Beauty industry a plus.
- Experience supporting retail and/or field sales employees is a plus.
- Experience navigating challenging people related situations with poise, grace and confidence.
- Demonstrated experience in developing collaborative relationships with employees at all levels including the ability to influence decision-makers.
- Using good judgment, able to coach, guide and provide sound counsel to employees and People Managers.
- Expertise in startup or small businesses able to build brand culture.
- Function well in fast-paced environments where processes exist in some areas and not in others.
- Strong Labor Law and Compliance knowledge.
- Solid Business and Financial Acumen.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills able to engage diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship from employer. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
