Paralegal

General Purpose of Job
The Paralegal will support the VP of Corporate General Counsel and Director of Legal Operations in providing legal support to the cooperative. This position will assist in drafting legal documents/correspondence, reviewing/preparing contracts, processing and responding to subpoenas, assisting with bankruptcy matters, conducting legal research, case management, and other legal-related matters. The Paralegal will work closely with the Corporate General Counsel and the Director of Legal Operations to ensure all legal documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and managed efficiently.

Education
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in corporate, litigation, contract, and/or utility law. Experience in real estate law is a plus.
- Experience or similar work in an electric utility or related industry preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
- Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
