Responsibilities:
- Establish the sourcing strategies for assigned commodities and suppliers and develop initiatives to optimize our supply base to maximize the company's ability to profitably serve our customers with excellent quality, delivery, cost, and communication from our suppliers.
- Act as a highly responsive escalation point for manufacturing when supplier delivery, quality, cost, or communication does not meet needs or expectations. Provides corrective action leadership and resources when required to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolution and develop, monitor, and drive supplier improvement plans to ensure prompt results and overall supplier effectiveness. Travel to supplier sites as required to ensure the company's needs and expectations are clear and being met.
- Lead supplier onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Proactively monitor and manage supplier performance leveraging the supplier score card process to meet company goals for on time delivery, quality, profitability, and technological advancement. Continuously improve the supplier score card process to meet evolving needs of the business.
- Facilitate and lead supplier visits, design reviews, and corrective action with internal stakeholders as needed to increase internal learning, improve first pass yield, and improve working relationships between Enercon and its suppliers.
- Perform monthly reporting of continuous improvement and cost reduction project metrics and status.
- Proactively monitor market indices that impact on the assigned commodity costs and develop strategies with internal stakeholders and the supply base to maintain or improve the cost basis.
- Effectively extract and analyze trend data, forecasts, and capacity forecasts, and coordinate with Production Planning, Scheduling, and Inventory to establish proper inventory levels of purchased materials. Implement replenishment strategies to maintain or improve lead times, both to customer and internal departments.
- Lead the development of risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for categories of spend.
- Lead the global sourcing plan for the assigned commodity segments or suppliers. This includes sending out RFI's, RFP's, analyzing quotes, and making sourcing recommendations based on the strategic or tactical needs of the business.
- Partner with finance and legal to develop and continuously improve master purchase agreements and effectively negotiate terms to accomplish defined business goals.
- Support manufacturing and finance in make versus buy scenario analysis and support or lead initiatives based on those analysis.
- Select and lead cost reduction/margin improvement initiatives. Support the new product development and change management projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to align with their technology, product, and process improvement roadmaps to ensure viability of our supply partners. Provide risk assessments and guidance on selection of technology-based sourcing viability and lead the supplier negotiation and selection processes.
- Collaborate with others or lead the plant floor implementation of Engineering Changes, Corrective Action, and New Products as needed.
- Rigorously evaluate and manage ERP master data for consistency and accuracy to ensure accurate replenishment parameters, inventory levels, maximize opportunity manage by exception, and support long-term commodity requirements.
- Effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of sourced or sub-contracted materials or services supporting the production schedule or strategic initiatives.
- May lead certain critical purchase direct and purchase to stock procurement for their assigned commodities or suppliers.
- Support inventory cycle counting initiatives or corrective action/counter measure initiatives which result from cycle counting.
- Communicate with company personnel as required to keep them informed of delivery schedules, material lead-times for the manufacture of customer orders, or the status of Engineering Changes, or development and introduction of New Products.
- Demonstrate effective change management awareness and skill to ensure changes are validated before implementation.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or an associate degree with significant demonstrated strategic sourcing or commodity buying experience in an manufacturing organization.
- Five (5) or more years of work experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Supplier Quality, or related field is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to inform the organization on initiative, project, or corrective action status and perform effective change management as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is required. Strong data extraction and Excel trend analysis and forecasting capabilities are required.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical data, and product specifications is required.
- APICS, CPM, C.P.M, CPSM, CIPS, CAP, PMP. and/or ISM certifications are a plus.
