Role Overview:
We are seeking a Paralegal II to join our New York office. This role requires expertise in the litigation lifecycle and associated procedures to provide crucial support to attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billable Hours: Achieve a billable hours target of 1,725 annually, performing work efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Document Management: Under attorney supervision, coordinate, organize, prepare, and interpret complex legal documents related to litigation; maintain and file relevant databases and case files; handle ECF filings.
- Electronic Discovery: Conduct electronic document reviews, coordinate document productions, and manage eDiscovery tasks.
- Deposition and Trial Support: Assist with deposition preparation, factual research, trial preparation, and logistical support for trials and hearings, including local and remote setups and travel arrangements.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal resources and external vendors to streamline processes and coordinate with other departments.
- Additional Tasks: Handle additional projects as assigned, including working overtime and traveling as needed.
Proficiencies:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience with transcript management applications (e.g., LiveNote).
- Skilled in cite-checking/bluebooking and using online research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
- Knowledge of jurisdictional, court, and agency processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with timekeeping, expense reporting applications, and legal billing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience.
- At least 2 years of litigation experience.
- Experience with trials, arbitrations, or mediations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $77,300 to $98,500 annually, commensurate with experience.
