Job Description:

As a Dental Hygienist at Modern Smiles, you will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care. Your primary responsibilities will include performing cleanings, scaling, and polishing teeth, providing patient education, taking X-rays, and assisting with the overall maintenance of patients' oral health. You will work alongside a talented team of dental professionals and contribute to creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing of teeth
• Take X-rays as needed
• Conduct periodontal assessments, charting, and assisting with diagnoses
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
• Assist with the detection of oral diseases and conditions
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting in the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans and ensure optimal patient care
• Help create a positive and relaxing patient experience through exceptional chairside manner
• Stay current with the latest in dental hygiene best practices and continuing education

Qualifications:

• Active dental hygiene license in the state of AZ
• Dental hygiene degree from an accredited program
• Experience with digital X-rays and Dentrix preferred
• Strong knowledge of oral health and hygiene procedures
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment
• Ability to educate patients about oral health in a clear and supportive manner
• CPR and BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
