Merakey is looking for a Psychiatrist at our facility in Pottsville, PA. The programs include Mental Health and Substance Use.  The Psychiatrist will conduct evaluations for newly admitted consumers, and annual re-evaluations in on-going cases. They will be the clinical leader and work in conjunction with other clinic staff to assure highest quality of care to the consumers on their caseload.

Assessment staff complete the initial biopsychosocial evaluation with the individual/family. The assessment process recognizes the importance of the unique context of each individual/family and carefully incorporates these within the overall understanding of the challenges and strengths of the individual/family. Those strengths are then used as the building blocks in a developmental approach toward assisting the individual/family achieve their identified goals. Integral to this person-centered approach is cultural competency. The first step in the completion of the intake process is understanding the unique culture of the individualhis/her family, history and community. 

Depending upon the challenges being experienced by an individual, the outpatient services provided may include:

  • Assessment for Level of Care
  • Individual Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Group Therapy
  • Psychiatric Evaluations/Consultation
  • Evaluations for Psychotropic Medication
  • Ongoing Medication Reviews and Monitoring
  • Peer Support Services
  • Telepsychiatry

Generous sign on bonus available for qualified candidates!

Schedule: Up to 20 hours per month on site in Pottsville

Work as a part time employed Physician or 1099 contractor.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Psychiatrist with an active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff
  • Expert assessment, diagnostic, and psychopharmacological treatment skills
  • Professional credentials should be current as dictated by the State licensing standards and Professional Licensing Board.
  • Valid PA Driver's License and appropriate state and federal clearances.
