The Role:
A Senior Data Management Professional (DMP) is a key role within our organization responsible for optimizing our data for clients and improving our data operations. They act as technical leaders setting the strategy for data products, developing interconnected data models, crafting data architectures, ensuring data quality, and using various techniques, including programming and statistical methods, to extract valuable insights from data. They are expected to be problem solvers, effective communicators and versatile at balancing technical expertise with a product-focused approach. This role encompasses various specialty areas, including data engineering, product ownership, data modeling & data quality, and requires a solid background in data management.

We'll trust you to:
  • Apply data engineering techniques to build strategic workflows and connect large data sets (structured and unstructured data), while keeping in mind quality controls and governance
  • Build database schema and configure ETL software to onboard new data sets
  • Analyze metadata and internal processes to identify opportunities for improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions, with a high level of quality control
  • Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for data governance
  • Implement business rules for programmatic data validation by codifying market conventions and/or data relationships
  • Understand all aspects of your data sets to perform proactive quality control to ensure data accuracy
  • Apply statistics and data visualization skills to report on results of ongoing operations and projects
  • Partner with our Engineering and Product to implement a data strategy that meets client needs
  • Mentor and train technical talent within the team by offering guidance and best-practice suggestions
  • You'll need to have:
  • A BA/BS degree or higher in STEM or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience in software development
  • 4+ years of professional experience programming and scripting in Python production environments
  • 2+ years of experience working with databases, either SQL or NoSQL
  • Understanding and experience with data modeling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to different shareholders
