Job Description

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Director, Entertainment Facilities and Sales, this position is responsible for the overall management and production of a show theatre operation. Is responsible for assisting with the planning and directing of show theatre productions. Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports, implements all new show theatre production initiatives as directed; actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the show theatre production operation as well as develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Implements show theatre production operational strategic plans as directed
  • Reviews rider documentation and implements related requirements
  • Purchases or rents equipment for audio or sound; musical instruments if requested
  • Liaises with Tour Managers to ensure compliance with rider documents and to fulfill any additional approved requirements
  • Sets up and breaks down venue as per plan
  • Troubleshoots equipment or service issues as escalated
  • Orders appropriate staff through established vendor lists
  • Schedules and supervises staff; edits timesheets
  • Coordinates with the cleaning contractor or other service to fulfill dressing room requirements
  • Order and coordinate backstage passes
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members)
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required


Education and Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education in entertainment production or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in show production management
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required


Work Environment Considerations
  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position.
