Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director, Human Resources, this position is responsible for being a hands-on manager who provides guidance, and mentoring, direction and support to the Human Resources Operations team on matters related to Human Resources Policies & Procedures and best practices, including but not limited to: Recruitment, Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Legal and Compliance, Health, Safety & Wellness, team member & Labour Relations, team member Engagement & Retention, Rewards & Recognition, Respectful Workplace & Diversity, and Organizational Development & Training. This position will assist the HR Director in developing and maintaining the Human Resources annual road map and budget and will have a strong focus on HR Operations. This position will act with considerable independence, discretion, judgment and initiative in providing timely and accurate information and advice on policies, procedures, administrative and operational issues. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to the Human Resource team; develops performance objectives and conducts performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Assists in developing Human Resources annual road map and budget
  • Supports programs such as ability management, talent acquisition, onboarding, training & development, attendance management, health & safety etc.
  • Supports the daily management and efficiencies of the Human Resources department
  • Provides guidance and support in labor and team member relations
  • Engages as a management representative of Occupational Health & Safety Committee
  • Conducts or assists in confidential workplace investigations
  • Supports management in dealing with conflict resolution
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members and regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required

Education and Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources, preferred or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of Human Resources and Labo ur Relations experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Strong knowledge of all applications of MS Office; HRIS experience an asset
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and projects with strong attention to detail
  • Superior written and verbal communication ability with excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, strong organizational skills and demonstrated service excellence with a proven track-record of being responsive, meeting deadlines and performing to measurable outcomes
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
