Director, Employer Connections

The Director of Employer Connections is responsible for creating and overseeing the vision of the Employer Connections Team (two team members) that is aligned with the university's and unit's vision, values, and goals. This position serves as an NTC Career Services Leadership Team member comprised of the Assistant Dean & Executive Director and Assistant Director for Career Development & Education. The Employer Connections Team is responsible for developing engagement opportunities through career-related events and educational programming for employers who recruit at Tulane University. The Employer Connections team coordinates and manages company site visits (in-person and remote experiences), including NTC Career Services team members, and for students to educate them about career path options.
The Director provides visionary leadership for a comprehensive and strategic employer connections program representing the priorities and vision of the institution and NTC Career Services. This position cultivates, nurtures, and expands employer relationships nationally, regionally, and locally with organizations seeking top talent. This position manages relationships with our extensive Tulane alumni and family networks to create strong, innovative employer partnerships, collaboration, and visibility in regional and national associations.

• Ability to develop and maintain employer relationships and actively promote on-campus and remote recruitment of students by desirable employers following an employer and experiential development plan.
• Ability to steward relationships with employers to increase recruiting opportunities and outcomes for students through the recruitment lifecycle.
• Ability to participate in various local, state, regional, and national organizations to increase internship and employment opportunities for students (Chambers of Commerce, state consortiums, etc.).
• Ability to provide career-related services and events for Tulane University students and campus partners, which support the vision of Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC) Career Services.
• Ability to provide input to the NTC strategic planning and works in support of the mission, vision, values, and goals of the NTC Career Services
• Ability to utilize an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens when engaging employers and connecting them with our campus community.
• Ability to manage data utilizing university systems and databases (e.g., Handshake and Salesforce) and create mechanisms to ensure consistent and accurate data collection, data entry, and data sharing with campus partners.
• Ability to represent Tulane University and NTC Career Services in local and national professional associations and conferences to stay current with industry trends, revise programs to reflect trends, and increase the NTC Career Services visibility among professionals in the field.
• Ability to interact with senior- and executive-level business professionals.
• Ability to utilize technology, data, and virtual platforms to inform strategy and increase employer engagement.
• Ability to travel when assigned or when appropriate.
• Able to work with a strong team and collaborative environment.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, account management or relationship management.
• Master's Degree with a focus on Sales, Data, Human Resources Recruiting, or within fields applicable to Higher Education environment.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at TU.
• Strategic planning and implementation; scaling services and infrastructure to increase career opportunities.
• Demonstration of leadership skills within a high-achieving team setting
• Exceptional communication (written, oral, presentation). Demonstrated proficiency designing and delivering presentations.
