The Senior Director, Digital Technologies, is looking for someone to round out their leadership team and who will focus primarily on setting the strategic direction and cross-functional vision for digital audience data.

This role is supported by a team of experts specializing in each area covered by the assignment.

As Director, Data and Analytics, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Radio-Canada Digital Media Data Strategy in conjunction with our partners.

The Data Strategy's scope covers the following:
  • Change management as well as training and development.
  • Data quality and integrity.
  • Ingest infrastructure and data availability.
  • Data governance.
  • Ad hoc analysis and self-service.

To successfully implement this strategy, it is essential that you demonstrate experience in planning, organizing and engaging cross-functional and cross-departmental teams.

You must also demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with all partners by building and maintaining trust as well as leveraging our teams' expertise.

Your responsibilities:
  • Determine, in conjunction with the team's senior managers and our stakeholders, the road map for the Radio-Canada Digital Media Data Strategy.
  • Define the division's objectives and key results (OKRs) jointly with the Senior Director and team managers.
  • Work with data teams and partners to develop business plans that support the strategy.
  • Manage budgets and guide the process for selecting tools and identifying partnerships with vendors.
  • Represent Digital Media in developing and implementing governance processes tailored to the division's unique circumstances.
  • Represent Digital Media in developing and implementing corporate policies to support the division's vision.
  • Inform the relevant stakeholders of decisions regarding existing policies on personal data security and management.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business intelligence, analytics, statistics, administration) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Five or more years' experience in a team leader or data product management role.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing and engaging teams.
  • Proven ability and track record in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional, agile teams or on projects that have multi-team dependencies.
  • Ability to see the big picture on issues in order to produce clear, concise and logical presentations and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders and partners at every level of the organization.
  • Excellent ability to empathize and communicate with people with different points of view or business objectives.
  • Experience working with data applied to digital products (web, mobile, connected TVs).
  • Experience implementing data governance models.
  • Ability to travel between Montreal and Toronto occasionally.
  • Bilingualism (English/French, spoken and written) essential.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in the media industry.

Perks you can look forward to:
  • Hybrid work environment with flexible work schedules, allowing you to prioritize yourself, your family and your work.
  • Competitive total rewards package.
  • Opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology.
  • Opportunities for continued learning and professional development.
  • Opportunities to become a member of our Employee Resource Groups.
  • Pair programming and mentorship opportunities, where you can learn from the best in the industry and help coach new talent.
  • A creative and dynamic work environment, where your ideas and contributions can be heard, valued and respected.
  • An environment that favours experimentation and an iterative approach in order to achieve the highest form of technical innovation.
